Woot underestimates their audience. I sometimes get hot and bothered over trigonometric functions, so read everything they had to say about sine and modified-sine waves.
Will this power a laptop in a car? I heard somewhere they draw 120 or more watts if it’s a full size one…
If you don’t have an inverter, get one. It’s an absolute perfect emergency (or otherwise) tool for the car. What’s great about this one is the USB port. Double yer’ money, double your fun!

anyone know how much noise the fan makes? the newpoint that sellout had a while back is quite noisy. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this model?

I have one of the Black and Decker inverters. I used to use it for my laptop…until my power supply got burned out by an unfortunate drink accident.
The last inverter I had caused the cigarette lighter to stop working. The cause was a broken fuse. Make sure that the cig lighter fuse is at least 15amps+.
