Specs for rope should ALWAYS include the useful weight-bearing capacity and breaking strength rating. Ropes sold w/o such ratings should NEVER be used in situations where life/safety risks are dependent upon the integrity of such rope, nor should it be used to secure and/or suspend heavy items where the potential energy released by a breaking rope would pose risks to life, limb or property.
Perhaps it should be classified as “decorative”.
I guess this kind of “mystery rope” would be safe to use as clothesline, to hold up a tarp or as a lead for a horse but don’t try using it to pull someone out of a steep canyon with your horse or UTV unless you like taking risks.
