How is this a 40W charger when it’s only spec’ed for a maximum of 6A total output? (40W / 5V = 8A, right?) Hmmm…

If it is a quick charger, the output voltage could be higher than 5V. However, it isn’t at all clear what quick charge specs this supports.

How Many Amps Are In A Watt? As we can see, at 120V, 1 amp is equal to 120 W . At 220V, 1 amp is equal to 220 watts.

I bought 3 of these. They were fairly cheap and I wanted to use them in different places in the house to charge phones/headphones. Two are still working.

3 days in, there was an audible pop, a small bit of smoke came out, and the blue power light on the charger turned off. That charging unit is dead.

Take from that what you will. Caveat emptor.
