The iPhone 13 is new enough that unless it has been abused, its battery is likely fine, but if it is below 90% “Battery Health” (be sure to check it in Settings/General/Battery), that will condition will be noticeable for heavy smartphone users. A proper battery replacement by Apple is $69.
Smartphone technology has largely matured, so most mainstream users will not notice a performance/features difference between the iPhone 12, 13, & 14. The 13 to 14 change is virtually non-existent. Even the iPhone 11 has most of what is in the 12, 13, & 14.
