(2 Cam System) Blink Outdoor 4 Security Camera

As these are refurb devices, can we be assured that the serial numbers are cleared from the Blink backend database? After purchasing a house with Blink devices, even after factory resetting said devices, the Blink app tells me “serial number already registered to different account” and will lot allow me to take over these devices. Upon contacting the seller, he says he deleted the devices from the app, but then my understanding from Blink customer support is that this does not de-register the serial numbers from their database. So I essentially have useless devices that cannot be reconnoitered.
I’d like to make sure the same isn’t true when purchasing refurb equipment from Woot!

Hello, here is our blurb about refurbs. It’s New Years Day so I will pass on your question but I’m the only one working today, FY.

“Refurbished” covers everything from buyers’ remorse returns and products whose defects have been repaired by the pros to damaged packaging and discontinued items. If you can accept their checkered past, refurbs have a lot of love to give.

I bought some a couple weeks ago and had no problem setting them up.

Answer from our vendor:

“Refurb devices do go through de-registration through the blink backend services. These devices go through the Amazon Reverse logistics refurbishment process and the first step in that process is to remove the previous registered owners data from the device.”

I have several of these cameras and frankly I’m not impressed. My gen 3 work better for recording and refreshing. The Gen 4 will detect motion, send notice but rarely record. Its such a pain. I have separated the cameras onto different sync devices despite thinking it might improve functionality. I even replaced cameras, no luck. With the sync about 10 feet from it, it still has issues. If you have other cameras i am sure it will be okay. I don’t like having blind spots.

Utter junk. I got it set up, and the cameras won’t connect to the sync module unless they’re in the same room. I called Blink customer service, and they wanted me to buy a Sync Module XR–otherwise, tough.
