Pass. The price in the link in the comment above is less than Woot’s price.

Yes but $14 shipping for 2 from that site makes this a better deal.

Our offer is for a 2-pack with flat $5 shipping.

When I tried to order 2 of these from the above link the cost of shipping was $15, though it does appear to be variable based on your location.

The mothership wants $5 less for just one. Man, the price gouging on these things is amazing.

I use to buy this type of cabinets a little smaller and a lot bigger for 10 to 18 bucks and they was full of bolts, nuts, screws, washers, and screws. I still have a little of the hardware in 3 but another 15 are full of other things. No room left for anymore.

These can often be had readily for $10-$25ish at various discount retailers. A list price of $100 is a blatant gouge. If you ever pay that much for cheap plastic drawers, you’ve been had and I’ve got a bridge you may be interested in buying as well. Cheap!

That being said, $20 each isn’t entirely unreasonable, and they do help hold all the fiddly bits in your garage or hobby workstation fairly nicely. I use mine for nuts, bolts, screws, odd adapters and connectors, wire scraps and solder, small bits of perfboard, and other bits and bobs like that.

WTF!? Don’t see NO stinkin’ link…

Can these be mounted to the wall?

Yes, check the photo from the last sale:

Also, the four funny looking blobs on the back are the drawer dividers, four for the large drawers, and eight for the small ones. Which is a REALLY stingy amount of drawer dividers!

Some manufacturers will provide more dividers just for the asking, but I don’t know if Akro Mils is one of them.

Should know that you can buy from Menards for less:

Wow, it’s 3 cents less. Before shipping and handling and tax. Which for me would add another $11.90 with the cheapest shipping option.

That makes it $4.79 cheaper here, even after the 5.3% Virginia sales tax which I wouldn’t have from them.

I used to use these vertical containers for nuts, bolts, screws etc. but I could never really see inside them and had to open each drawer individually to find what I wanted. What a pain. I have gone to horizontal containers, MUCH better.

AND whose to say this really is a TWO pack! Last time I bought this they sent one and apologized because they “MEANT” single.
All good cause they refunded the entire price and gave me my 5 bucks back for shipping.

Small drawer cabinets seem to come in two varieties. One type is usually a rather thin gray plastic body with transparent drawers. I think those are almost useless. I’ve found the drawers stick, shift, and ultimately crack (usually of of my frustration in pulling them with maximal force).

The other type features a fairly sturdy, albeit plastic, frame and has translucent drawers (I’m guessing either polyethylene or polypropylene) that fit much better and slide more easily.

I can’t tell from the picture which this is. I looks like the better frame with the inferior drawers. Any insights?

Let me help you out here, this is a good link:

It’s slightly smaller, but definitely a better buy. Escalante has a point about not seeing what is in the drawer easily. I use this type of storage a lot because I have them mounted on a wall. I label some of the drawers, others you get to know what’s in there because you use them enough- you can still see some stuff from the front though.

Dookie - thanks for your feedback. The drawers in the Akro-Mils cabinet are made of the flexible, translucent plastic you prefer.
