White Lily is the gold standard of biscuit flour. The problem is, if you don’t live in their “delivery zone” you just can’t get your hands on a bag. People will pay this price because they can’t get it locally.
In the South, cornbread is still popular and usually made without added sugar.
The only cornbread I’ve had that lacked added sugar was my English Grandmother’s and it was because of that, I grew up thinking I hated cornbread. She still prefers that nonsense and maybe she was a sailor in a previous life and had to survive on hardtack…
I can’t imagine southerners putting 1/2 cup of sugar in sweet tea and none in cornbread. Do you have a recipe, that tastes good?
