I’ve received several of these Comics in a BOC. They make for some great bathroom reading material.
Edit: Woah, when did woot get a spoiler/blackout tag/filter?
Well, lets hope we actually get them this time, especially all 3 boxes.
Last time I ordered comics from woot, I ordered 3. I received 3 copies of each comic.
@TT thinks she’s funny.
If I remember correctly, I had two, perhaps 3 issues. I once got 1 out of 3, and then right after on the next sale, I got none, as the seller oversold. Took them quite a while to finally ship some out.
I ordered 3 of these last year and recieved about 1/2 Marvel (lots of Spider-Man), 1/4 DC, and 1/4 Image/Malibu/No Idea. There were many duplicates or triplicates. The old school trading cards might have been the best part.
Edit: I’m getting them again. I kinda want more trading cards.
I bought one last time around and gave them to my boys, as kind of planned.
If you’re hoping for anything worth more than face value, you won’t find it. All of these are common comic books and cards.
I’ve bought these a few times and have had decent luck regarding duplicates. That said, I’ve received the same Catwoman book in every box I’ve ever ordered.
I don’t see any Archie and Jughead on the list. Do they even make those anymore ?
They were always my fav. That and Scooby Doo Comics.
Yep, they are still alive and kickin’
Interesting choice of words, “alive and kickin’”…seeing how he about to be dead and gone… x.x
I kind of wanted some of these just for fun, but they don’t ship to APO. >_< Come on, man.
In the context of buying a random lot, this isn’t a particularly good deal. There is a company out there, albeit with iffy customer service (just in my experience anyway) that sells by the pound. A 10 pound random lot, which will get you about 75 comics, sells for under $10. If you wanted a specific publisher-eg. DC or Marvel, the company offers a random pack of 100 for $45.
I can’t speak for the quality of the selection offered here, but the comments past and present mirror my experience with this other company. You’ll likely get duplicates and the chance of getting a comic that exceeds face value, not to mention the cost of the whole bunch, is negligible. You’re going to get the stuff that DC and Marvel pumped out in mass quantities in the 1990s that never sold and are now sitting stacked in warehouses (Catwoman has been mentioned several times) mixed with titles and publishers you never heard of.
The other downside is that, unlike the stand-alone stories from the 60s and 70s, the ones you’ll likely get here are part of a multi-issue story line and you’ll only get book 3 of a 5 part series. Kind of tough to fully enjoy a comic when you don’t know what happened leading up to that issue and how the cliffhanger at the end of your book gets resolved.
These aren’t comics for collecting. These are comics for reading, introducing a kid to the wonder of comic books, giving out in party bags or at Halloween, etc.
Hey, could be just the thing for a reluctant reader.
I agree. Only buying if I can find out who Veronica’s dating this month.
You get 8 out of that list of 20. The rest are assorted. Who knows, maybe there’s an Archie & Jughead in your future.
What are the odds of getting those NKOTB cards?
