Does anye have any personal experience owning this luggage? We are in the market but want to make sure the quality is there. Thanks!
I wish the wheels retracted inside the suitcase when the handle was down. I have had more wheels broken off or damaged from airlines. Are the wheels easily replaceable on this brand?
Would love to know about the quality of this luggage set. Looks like a really good price compared to Amazon!
Hate to ask the obvious, but…does this luggage nest one inside the next? I would assume so, but you know what they say about assumptions.
I’m not affiliated with the company but I, regrettably, used to be. For those concerned about the wheels – I wouldn’t be. The luggage is, reasonably, well-made. with above average styling and design. (I’d place it squarely mid-level in overall quality.) They do indeed nest one inside the other. A more appealing Woot! price would be around $169.00 This the, moderately, informed opinion of a disgruntled, though eminently honest, former affiliate.
I don’t own this particular set, but I recently purchased a Mi Toro 30 inch hardside case and found it to be well made with a nice overall style.
Compartments are simple. There is a zippered bag that runs the length of the interior case along the edge, and a zippered plenum divider separating the top and bottom halves. The divider provides another two zippered mesh compartments which I found useful for socks and undergarments.
What is the country of manufacture? I try to avoid China where possible.
Almost everyone (in general yet I speak of luggage specifically here) is china or outsourced from china by china now.
You generally have to get very expensive to have an actual made in from america, france, italy, germany or the like.
Is the smallest piece small enough to be considered “carry-on” by the airlines and/or TSA?
Sorry if it’s a dumb question; I’m a very infrequent flyer …
In general no it’s too wide and too deep as well as too tall for some.
And any day dimensions can be made even smaller
My luggage showed up today. It seems pretty nice. The weird thing is the brand seems to be Mia Toro. I see no mention of Hontus. Am I missing something?
Might be a side brand they created for another retailer. Our photos definitely have the Mia Toro logo.
Don’t bother! First trip the inner zipper separated from the fabric. I contacted their customer service and was told to take it to their repair center, 10 hours away. They will not pay for shipping it to their repair center. If the repair is warranted “defective material” they will pay to ship you a new one. The outside of the bag was covered by black marks from the conveyors at the airport. Other than those problems they were okay. I would not buy again.
I purchased this luggage and absolutely love it. I spent $170 on a Samsonite carry on a few years ago. I invest in good luggage (I also have a Thule backpack/carry that I paid about $175 for last year. You just can not beat the quality and the price for this Italian 3 piece set. I bought the gray/black. I think they may have wound up on Woot because there are random little pieces of plastic in some of the seams that may not passed QC in manufacturing, but I just pull them out wherever I see them. Great little features inside the cases as well. They are super light. Whoever wrote “go to Marshalls’ or TJ Maxx” - that is surely an option if you need to feel your luggage before you buy, but aside from the rare nice piece in those stores, you’re going to get what you pay for. This Woot offer is really one of the best I’ve seen.
