And these massage chairs they sure are great and sometimes work miraculously and immediately in ridding one of the numbness and lack of mobility from nerve damage. I sat in a Panasonic Chair one time and it immediately but temporarily cured the problem. So I purchase a chair from Sharper Image, but it was not a Panasonic. The chair was made by Human Touch Technology, and it did not relieve the problem. Also it was a piece of junk costing over a thousand bucks. This chair you are selling looks like it, and I have seen them now going for about $500.00 elsewhere. The problem appears to be with the electronic control system with blowing diodes. Also the mechanics and structure is not sound…too many moving parts that are not mechanically secured from damage from vibrations and continuous moving parts. Buyer Beware as after the warranty period of only a year or so, you more than likely will have problems, and the service center was not helpful in giving you any service tips. It was all about show me the money, so I can sell you a service contract.

That’s a shame because, like you said, these chairs CAN BE absolutely incredible when they work.I wonder what the cost of an extended warranty would be up front.

I have a massage chair in my home that is similar to these, but not the same brand. I own an Osaki and have had it in my home for almost 4 years with no problems.

As for blowing diodes, I will say I unplug mine when not in use and protect all of my electronics with surge protectors because dirty power is not friendly to anything electrical and we have quite a few power surges in my area.

Even if you get a service contract at a reasonable rate, you don’t want the nuisance of having something that is going to break down all of the time.

Well its a good thing these chairs have a 3 year everything is covered warranty. There aren’t any massage chairs on the market you can buy for this price with that warranty. Plus Johnson offers free over the phone support after the warranty expires. This warranty is good in all of the US and Canada an there is no fine print, Johnson prides itself on having superior warranty support compared to other massage chair suppliers.
