I have very few items that require a LOT of juice. My IR body thermometer, for one. Regular nimh batteries run out quickly in it. But I have lots of spares, so I’m not penalized.

The 1.2 V output from NiMH batteries works in many devices without any problems. My older Comcast remote works with these installed, but Comcast displays messages informing me my remote’s batteries are low even after installing 2 freshly charged AA NiMH batteries. Within a week or so the messages switch to your remote’s batteries are critically low.
