This is not a new idea, but I bought some of these a few years ago and put them in luggage when traveling, and they really helped keep track of the luggage, especially when a bag was lost. I wasn’t sure if there would be enough Samsung devices around to provide information, but it ended up working quite well.
Oh of course, it’s definitely not a new idea, there have been plenty of other version (e.g. Tile, Airtag, etc.) These just work best with the Samsung ecosystem and their locator app.
These were like the very first thing I bought on woot and I can’t remember what they were priced at then. Like March of this year maybe April?
Anyways, they with pretty nicely imo with a Samsung phone. If you have a non Samsung Android, there’s a hack for it to make it work and it works perfectly just like you have a Samsung. I’m currently on a Pixel pro and did this a few weeks ago and my smart things are back to normal. Might get some more of these

These ONLY work with Samsung devices, supposedly.
The Samsung headphones work with other phones though, but it sucks, even with Samsung phones. I use it at least 2 times a month when I loose my earphones, but even if it’s right in front of them it won’t find them. SmartFind, SmartThings, and Samsung Wearables have had issues with this since the z fold 3 for the last 4 years. It’s very hot or miss and takes coming back to it multiple times throughout the day, if it ever updates at all.
I haven’t seen many of the more advanced flost device finding features to work consistently. Both the one without USB and with UWB-ultra wide band where it points to where the device is through the camerafeatures to ever work (the only reason I bought subpar non-audiophile earphones was for this feature). It’s not even offered on any of the app menu’s or talked about in the apps, but it’s on their marketing, photos, and webpages. I’ve had multiple phones and devices listed in the UWB compatible devices, same with friends with Samsung devices using smartthingsfind, and played connected things to display Samsung phones, my friends and I could never find it.
I contacted Scamsung customer torture a bout it, but Samsung has the worst customer service I’ve ever seen (they do lotteries for good reviews where it explicitly states if you say anything negative you’re disqualifie) and they’re somehow rated #1 and got awards for CS. Yeah right.
Antways, The employees understood what feature I was talking about, they mentioned it at first, but after checking the computers about the feature they then never said anything other than a scripted-like reply, and so it was the whole circular conversation thing, where they repeat over and over the same things that’s incorrect or unhelpful no matter how you reword it. 3 employees , 3 years, and 2 devices later I just gave up on it.
Posted on Samsungs subreddit asking how to get it to work, but any post about a feature or something not working gets downloaded by Samsungs reddit bots, most likely.

AliExpresses customer service is better than Samsung’s.
There’s a 3rd party app that hacks your smart things and allows it work on non-samsung phones. I’m currently using it on a pixel pro. I doubt this would work on an iphone. Just google how to do it and it pops up. It wasn’t an app store thing.

It is a bit glitchy to set up, but once you have it running, it works great.

Does anyone know if these are the American version
or the global version?
