Hi. Anyone know if these are hybrid or heirloom? Anyone have any experience growing these in zone 10 (southern california)? Thanks.
Most blueberry plants need at least 1000 hrs âchill hoursâ in the winter to thrive and bear fruit. 1 âchill hourâ is an hour where the temp is below 45 degrees.
There are Southern varieties of blueberry plants that will grow with little or no âchill hoursâ, but these are not them.
I read this as âGrannys Giant Blueberry Pantsâ and am a little disappointed I was wrong.
Sorry for the delay. We just heard back from our vendor.
The Bluejay and Patriot varieties of blueberries in this pack are hearty hybrids. They can be planted in the garden or started in a planter/pot. They usually take about 2 years to produce fruit.
