500-Lumen Tactical Flashlight 2-Pack

I bought 2 sets of these last time they were offered. NO, THERE ARE NOT 3 MODES!
There is only one beam strength with a focus capability. There is no HI / LOW level. There is no SOS mode.

Whats the run time, with 1 AAA battery? 15 minutes?

Y’all can buy a lot of 6 of these lights for $3 on ebay…

6? thats nice. Out of six, 2 might work. In my experience, that’s about how it goes.

It is a AA battery not AAA and it lasts crazy long. Hours continuous in my experience. Months if quick uses here in there like when you drop something under your car seat.

True, I have purchased many 6 packs and hand them out to people. Different colors too! They don’t come with the Fancy box though.

After purchasing multiple 6 packs at the ebay cheap price I have never had one fail. Going on years and they are still in service.

500 Lumens from a single AA battery? Is that even possible in theory?

While I really like the intensity & even light distribution that these tactical flashlights provide, I don’t like the “attack head” on the front. Feels like I’m going to eventually rip a hole in a pants or jacket pocket.

Flashlight WiKI I see now, pasted Cree specs sheet that Bin Q5 outputs 345-352 Lumens when the ballast feeds 1.0 Amp (a bit less than 4Watts)

you really must use size 14500 Lithium cell, (4volts since it’s rechargable chemistry) to get brighter than 190Lumens. TrustFire is a popular brand. I’ve never left it on the HIGH setting long enough to time how many minutes a freshly charged 14500 lasts. Gets real hot doing that.

Why do you continue to advertise they do things they can’t do. Isn’t there a law against that?

Not if they are just restating data provided by the supplier. You know, like suggested retail price of $999.99 for a pair of underwear, but here you can get a pack of five for $9.99.

Woot used to be cutting edge. Now unfortunately they are turning into a cheap lying and dishonest re-seller. Too many new people there trying to make a buck. Totally disappointed in what used to be a decent company.

I received 4-packs of these, ordered from this sale. They have 2 flashlights in a nice padded plastic box. They say “Army Gear” on both sides, have three modes (high, medium, and continuous pulse). The pulse is not SOS. I bought similar formed lights last week from Amazon, “Kangora E100” sold in five-packs for 15.95, in a cardboard box or blister pack. Chassis and functions are identical, the Amazon units are a slightly whiter “outdoor” light while woot’s are gentler “indoor” off-white. Both are perfectly fine. I like woot’s padded plastic container which I’ll use for something else (why have 2 lights at same place). The unique function of both lights is that you can toggle between the three modes with a light touch of the switch and as long as you leave it off for a few seconds, it will return to the same mode next time. They both have a very thick focusing lens that slides from tight to broad beam (or anything in between) and can light up trees across my street 200’ away. At tightest beam, you can distinctly see the square shape of the LED PCB. The rubber switch cover is black for the amazon units and a more visible orange for woot’s.

You might want to bring 2 with you when vacationing, hunting or camping. Keeping them together in the case for a trip away from home would help one locate them when needed. Upon packing to go home, one would be more likely to notice if either was missing if they were see that case, retrieve it for packing and find it to be light (no pun intended, but now that it’s out there ) I think the case is a nice, practical addition. Just sayin’

I bought these about a month ago from Woot. These are a very solid and sturdy. I filled up a cup with water and dropped one of them in for about 30 seconds to see if it was actually waterproof. Pulled it out and it was fine.

The beam is very bright, however it is not a true 500 lumens bright. I have 300 lumen flashlights that emit a brighter beam than this one. With that said it is a truly impressive beam for such a small flashlight running off 1 AA battery. I have taken this caving before and was quite pleased with it.

This is great as a backup flashlight or to throw in a drawer/car for when you need it.

yeah, my bad. Got mine today. Case is cheap and flimsy. Lights are bright but but 500? Not sure that’s right. You can slid the lens forward and back to get a wide beam or spot. Reminds me of a duracell light I have that uses C batteries. But I guess if you wanted to blind an intruder, these would work in a pinch. As far as crazy long? OK, 1 hour then LOL. Think I will put this in my smaller emergency bag as a backup.

no instructions but after reading this…finally figured out how to
use them…not overly impressed
after paying so much.
