I had one of these. About 3 months into using it, I noticed that when it would boil and I’d pour, water would be dripping from the join between the glass portion and the silver bottom of the kettle – and the water leaking was NOT hot at all. So I don’t know if water was getting through(!) and under(!) the heating plate, but it kept happening time and again. So I got rid of it. Caveat emptor.
