Centon OEM SATA III M.2 2280 SSD

Centon OEM SATA III M.2 2280 SSD

Does anyone know if this is compatible with a MacBook Pro Retina?

No, it does not. Macbooks use a different connector than this.

What is the reliability of Centon? Are they some subsidiary of another major brand?

Reliable or not, this is not a good deal. These are SATA M.2 drives, they are not fast NVMe, just SATA. You can get NVMe M.2 drives for the same or cheaper. Example: https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-500GB-NAND-NVMe-PCIe/dp/B086BGWNY8/
Unless your system is old and has first gen M.2 that only supported SATA and not NVMe, then SATA M.2 will work, and you can still find them cheaper. https://www.amazon.com/Blue-NAND-500GB-SSD-WDS500G2B0B/dp/B073SBX6TY/

Not a great deal for sure, and it has always irritated me that Woot! refers to these devices as “Centon Memory”. In computer terms, these devices (SSDs, SD Cards, Thumb Drives) are “Storage”.
