Yes, the phone has NFC. But Samsung Pay is blocked and will not work on this phone.
Am I the only one who thinks this is a really bad deal, considering it has no warranty and you can’t use Samsung pay??
What about google pay? Why would I need Samsung pay?
Samsung Pay offers MST, which allows some phones to transmit magnetic stripe data directly to magnetic stripe readers. This allows contactless payments even if the payment terminal doesn’t support NFC payments.
MST might not work with all readers, though, like those at most gas pumps (IME) or where the magnetic stripe reader is deep in the machine.
