I can’t even begin to count the kitchen items whose welded on handles have failed and fallen off over my 40 years as a part time cook. From measuring cups, to skimmers, colanders, even pots and pans. If I have a choice, I would NEVER buy another item that was welded. (And especially as poorly welded as the picture indicates - one weld is a splattered mess and one weld was done much colder.) My “day” job was as a welding engineer, so I KNOW what a GOOD weld can be like. Unfortunately the kitchen goods industry standard seems to be “do it fast, do it cheap, if it doesn’t fall off in factory or shipping then it was welded good enough”
Give me rivets or screws any day. If they loosen up or go bad I can just re-do / replace them!
