I am typing this on a launch day surface book 1 for this commment. Been a great little laptop, but this is almost the same price I paid 5 years ago. You can get much better laptops out there for the price.
THE SURFACE BOOK IS NOT A GOOD TABLET!
For a long time, I’ve wanted this computer–or more specifically, a heavily-upgraded one with newer components but the same form factor. This configuration was absurdly priced at release ($3299!), so the asking price of $1559 seems like a bargain. Just remember that this computer was released 5 years ago. The dedicated graphics in the power base only has 1 GB of RAM and is a 900-series Nvidia, so not only is it 3 generations old but the very small amount of memory means that it will have a much harder time with intensive 3d applications.
Also for points of comparison, $1500 will get you a lot of laptop these days. Here’s just a few examples of notebooks with comparable but vastly newer specs in the same price range:
I believe this is the 2019 model…No where in the spec does it say this is WIFI 6…
If only ac and not ax…I personally would not be buying…
Why buy a power notebook that gives you 1/5th of the “throughput” on the WIFI going forward…
A year from now I would be hating myself…
They need to take another $300 to $500 off the price is they want to “dump” these…

As for the models, while I’m not sure about what year they are, here are the model codes and their specs for the 13.5" models. I did include one 15" model of the SB2 as that code had often been mis-applied by some online vendors.
