$280 for the 5th Gen iPad that sold for $329 new. Wow, that is some impressive residual value-holding power. Gotta love Apple mobile devices.
The cool thing about Apple mobile devices, especially since tablets and phones have matured - this 3-1/2 year old iPad got the latest Apple iOS update to iPadOS 14.2, that’s four operating system upgrades since this model launched.
We paid $230 and $250 for two 6th gen iPads, brand new when they were the current mainstream iPad models. $250 was pretty much the street price and the MSRP was the same as today’s 8th gen at $329. Even the 7th gen iPad with a slightly larger 10.2 inch screen could be readily found for $250 when it was current.
(A generic case has little market value and the iPad does not need a screen protector with the right case.)
Really don’t know who’s in charge of pricing these, but considering a brand new current gen iPad went for the same price as this one during black Friday deals and is only $50 more than this at regular price, there’s no way I’d consider paying this much for a years old tablet which will lose support from Apple sooner than not. I advise putting that money towards the current model and getting at least 3+ years more support.
