I’m surprised there’s no discussion here…
Guess I’ll start.
Does this seem like a reputable brand? 29 ratings isn’t a lot to go off of.
I’ve never bought/needed one of these, does this seem like a good price for one?
Would this cover a significant portion of the globe? Are there notable destinations missing?
I don’t know about the brand but I have a similar one from a different brand, it’s worked well for me in Europe and Asia.
I think this is a good price. I just bought one myself.
I can see a lot of applications for this traveling abroad! bought it as well
it’s definitely not a reputable brand. but honestly I don’t know how much that matters the way things work now. 95% of chargers are whitelisted products made from an OEM in China and then rebranded.
so whether you’re buying it from anker or baseaus or a complete random temporary brand name… oftentimes it’s a very same parts and internals.
this is also true of things like USBC hubs. you can spend extra money to have a reputable brand and you might get a longer warranty and better customer support that way.
I have quite a few generic 65 w chargers that I bought from Amazon for like 13 bucks. they’ve been fine for the most part.
I’ve had some that stopped charging at adequate speeds or that get hot or something but there’s no 65 watt charger on the planet that’s not going to produce some heat.
some of them we’ll have barely audible electric feedback noise which isn’t dangerous but is annoying and sounds unsettling.
honestly this looks like a pre compelling deal. The cheapest I’ve ever really seen 65 w chargers is 14 bucks anyways and this is two extra bucks and you also get a few extra ports and plugs and such.
I would like to see something like this but a little bigger and with a portable charger that doesn’t need to be connected to the wall. this could be a real like one stop travel charger if it could also power up your phone even if you’re not near the wall
Yes it’s an excellent price. would be an excellent price for a 65 watt charger alone.
The fact that it’s a 65 w charger that also has a sort of travel adapter plug feature and buttons and extra ports…
not to be clear I’ve never used it so it’s possible it will be a bad product. but if it does what it says it’s excellent value.
this does get one of those unpleasant “frequently returned items” graphics on the mothership website. this particular item is listed as a bundle with a case so it might be a different SKU.
for what it’s worth I own products that have the frequently returned label that were completely perfectly. but nonetheless I thought it would be worth pointing it out.
if anyone ordered one and you can confirm that it triggers fast charging on your devices or blah blah blah it might be useful anecdotal evidence for those of us on the fence
