FWIW, I just bought the R3 for less then $100 over this price off the mother ship. It arrived today. Though the R1 has great features, but no GPS, generating lockouts might be an important feature (which needs GPS) and you use it in the city. Otherwise, it’s a decent detector and has gotten top reviews on youtube during tests. And one other note, the R1 doesn’t do red light cameras or anything it needs GPS to KNOW where it’s at to warn you.
