Still unsure if the refurb will qualify for the free HDMI 2.1 board replacement. Can anyone find out?
Per Yamaha, the 1 Year Yamaha Warranty for Certified refurbished products will cover any defects of the unit within the warranty period. This also covers upgrades and replacements. Yamaha assured us that every customer who has an issue will be take care of directly through their warranty department.

The posting is a little disingenuous. This unit is a Costco exclusive and has never sold for $599.95. That’s the price of the RX-V6A, which admittedly has identical specifications to the TSR-700. The everyday price of this brand new at Costco is $399.99. For $40 I’d get a new one with Costco’s 90-day return policy. I’ve been pretty happy with the receiver, but beware that it can be particular about its cables. I’d suggest buying some certified ultra high-speed ones for best results. They can be had at Amazon or Monoprice for about $15 each.
