I got one of these at Home Depot a few months ago for $200. I love it. Easy to install, easy to use. The only major drawback is that - strangely - it’s not built for outdoor use. If you’re replacing an outdoor sprinkler controller with this thing, you’ll need to invest in a weatherproof enclosure.

there are 3 big players in the connected home sprinkler systems and this one is the the non-waterproof one of the bunch. i have 2 sprinklers systems in my home one sits in the garage for the front and the other sits outside by the pool equipment for the rear of the house. i didnt get this one because it would need a waterproof housing

I’ve been watching this one, but was annoyed also because it needs to be installed outside. I’ve also been watching the Spruce controller since you can use sensors with it so it’s actually smart(er).

Bought one of these a few months ago to replace my previous internet controlled irrigation controller which was utter crap. The Rachio is incredibly well made and the software is top notch, I couldn’t recommend it more.

Got it on previous woot. Love it.

Ironically, I had hard time coupling it with a network using my Galaxy phone. Once used iPhone everything was done in a flash.

I bought this one the last time it was on Woot! It was a very easy install, and I’ve very happy with it! The only thing is I wish it had a manual cycle button on the unit itself

I’m too lazy to do much research today, but anyone know if this will work with a Wink mesh net? Similar function to the Nest products or MyQ garage door opener?

can I control anything from this unit? or do I always have to fall back to my wifi-controlled phones or tablet? (hence can i control this sprinkler system if my wifi goes out)

Unit continues current program if wifi unavailable, you get email from Rachio that your unit is offline.

The only way to control unit is thru your phone via wifi; that’s biggest drawback, you can’t start/stop any zone from unit.

I bought this last time around. It is simple to install and works with no problem. So easy to program! Its a great buy.
