I’m sure slate is relatively soft, on Moh’s scale, but yeah, if you want to ruin your knives, by all means use a rock as a cutting board.

Per the description and pictures it looks like the ‘cutting board’ is more in the line of being a presentation charc board you can divvy up cheeses and what not on.

I think it’s ok if you only use it to cut cheese with a putty knife
