I’m one of the lucky ones who got it unlocked with no hassle in about 2 weeks, but even then I wouldn’t buy it new at this price (and I paid more than this for a 128GB model from Woot!).
These are advertised as new but mine arrived with the plastic wrapping scotch taped together. Poorly. Haven’t opened it yet, since I’m trying to get an unlock code first.
