Less working more thrusting
Size doesnât matter
WOW
Silicone
This may seem like a good deal. It has a high rate of failure. Because they didnât factor in that the razor that cuts the tube gets dull. So it jams after 3 to 4 uses. Rendering it useless. Save your money.
And just what is going on in that last photo? What does one caulk on a chair leg? Why wouldnât one turn the chair over?
Itâs probably construction adhesive.
Because thereâs a blonde yak currently sitting in the chair, duh.
âBlonde Yak sitting in the chairâ
Can the blade be replaced?
I have no personal experience with these, but I did hear that they have a high failure rates, as someone already pointed out. However, I also heard that the one place where they are useful is where a standard caulk gun couldnât fit â tight, cramped spots. Iâve never run into one, but Iâm sure they exist. So, if you get one, I would suggest that after your initial checking it out, save it for tight, cramped spaces.
Iâd probably just buy a small squeeze tube of caulk for tight spaces.
I guess scissors can cut boxes, but not my idea of a box cutter.
What if I get my caulk jammed in there? Any risk getting cut trying to pull it out?
Iâd just apply caulk with a trowel.
Thick adhesive flow.
Faster seam sealing.
Donât put your caulk in that.
Hereâs a Youtube review where the reviewers did missed the removable piercer in the handle. Even with that miss they were positive about it (but did provide an affiliate link to Amazon to buy it)
Another YouTube Reviewer was less eloquent but positive on the Siligun.
A comment in this video stated that it worked great the first day but started to fail on the second day.
The gun does seem interesting however Iâm a bit worried about the ~20% of Amazon reviewers that left a 1 star. A number discuss failure between 1-10 tubes.
Hmmmm⌠probably a pass for me but it did make me look into it!
A very long time ago (2011) when we did ridiculously long write-ups, this was one we did for a caulking kit. Itâs one of my favorites.
Now today on Caulk Talk weâre looking at this PRO Caulk Complete Caulking Kit 2-Pack. Each kitâs got eight sealing edges, a bonus mini applicator, and a five year guarantee on the edge tools. You get two of each kit. My guest as always is my good friend Bobby Malten. Bobby, get a load of this caulk.
âOh this is a BEE-YOU-TIFUL caulk, Vinny. Absolutely beautiful. You got five and a half ounces of DAP Kwik Seal Kitchen and Bath Adhesive Caulk here. And those eight sealing edges? Youâre gonna have no problem gettinâ your caulk all up in there.â
I agree. Nothinâ worse than having to fight just to get your caulk in there. You can waste hours! Sometimes itâs so bad youâve got to beg and plead just to get the tip of the caulk in there.
âSometimes I feel like itâd be easier if I bought it some drinks first!â
Ha ha, thatâs a good one, Bobby. You and I both know that inebriation only makes it harder to get your caulk in there. Luckily that shouldnât be a problem with this baby. Letâs take some calls. Hello caller, youâre on Caulk Talk. Letâs talk caulk.
âYeah, I was just wondering: do you guys generally prefer a stiff caulk?â
Well obviously the adhesive nature of the caulk you want depends on the job. In general, though, I prefer a soft caulk.
âDefinitely soft. By the time itâs hard your caulk is brittle and useless!â
Does that answer your question, caller?
âHAHAHAHA-â
OK, not sure what was so funny there, but anyway⌠next caller! Letâs talk caulk!
âHey, thanks for taking my call. So check this out: my Congressman just texted my girlfriend a picture of his caulk. What should I do?â
Well, I donât know where you live, but any politician whoâs that comfortable showing off his caulk would get our vote, no problem. Right, Bobby?
âDefinitely. Definitely. I think about caulk every time I go to the voting booth.â
Yeah, you gotta stay vigilant these days or the next thing you know, the government will come along and take away your caulk. And Iâm not about to let some bureaucrat cut off my caulk.
âYeah, that sounds painful.â
You donât know the half of it, caller. All right, moving on to the next call. Weâve got a Complete Caulking Kit here today, what say you?
âHey guys, longtime listener first time caller. I was wondering whereâs the weirdest place you guys have accidentally had caulk wind up?â
Ha, great question, caller. Bobby?
âOh man. One time I had a misfire with my caulk gun. Wound up with a face covered in caulk. The guys on the job had a FIELD DAY with that one.â
I got you beat, Bobby, I got you beat. So there I am, re-tilinâ a bathroom wall, right? And I got my caulk gun and Iâm caulkinâ like nobodyâs business when all of a sudden, BOOM! The bottle explodes and Iâm sittinâ there, my buddies all around me laughinâ, âcause I got a huge mouthful of caulk.
âOh my god could you say that again? I want to record it for YouTube.â
Sorry caller, weâre out of time. Thatâs all for Caulk Talk! Thanks for watching, and good luck workinâ that caulk!
âVinny, you ever feel like our show has a disproportionately high number of callers who are teenage boys?"
Even if itâs only 4 inches!
