Hi! To find out what I can do, say @wootybot display help.
I agree! As much as hunting can be fun sometimes I want to get on Woot! Do a quick specific search and see if there is anything I’m looking for. Lately I haven’t been going to Woot much b/c I don’t want to spend an hour looking to see if they have any Size 14, Men’s shoes.
Woot: You need a search or at least a filter so that I can only see products I’d be interested in actually buying.

I’ve seen people (seemingly Woot employees cause the use the word “we” in their explanation) offer flimsy justifications for not providing search. I’ve seen them say because they aren’t a general store and don’t offer a ton of products, or that products turn over rapidly, etc.
None of these make any sense to me. They seem like excuses. I can deluge you with use cases EVEN granting all their observations:
- I saw something yesterday but can’t navigate my way back to it
- I just want to see if Woot happens to have what I’m looking for and I don’t mind spending the time searching if the odds are low.
I would almost be tempted to see if I can make a ton of money but creating a “site crawler” (somewhat like Google) that just craws Woot (perhaps from emails and such) that indexes products and then… seeing if Woot has a program to give me a commission if someone buys something by clicking thru my link.
But I don’t really wanna do that. I think Woot needs to LISTEN to their customers and PROVIDE A DAMN SEARCH facility.
I’m a web developer and I can assure you that the chances are VERY good this would be VERY VERY easy for them to do with “off the shelf” tools/software.

Chances are, they don’t want to do it.
Sure a grocery store can put the top ten selling items next to the register, so you can just come in and grab your bread, milk, and eggs, then leave… but it’s far more profitable otherwise.

I can’t wait to check out the web crawler which you design. Over the years, there have been some cool third party sites.
(Please note: I don’t work for Woot, I just volunteer to help out here on the forums.)
Yes, please add a DECENT search tool to Woot. One that searches for key words in item title.
I do not want to see ‘recommended’ items or ‘sponsored’ ones. I just want to see things with my key word in it and it would be AMAZING if one could have boolean search powers in it… A search that uses + for desired keywords and - for words to avoid is a type of Boolean search that employs specific search operators to refine search results. (thanks AI ) As an ancient wooter (one who remembers when only ONE thing a day was up for sale), i think it is time. I’ve heard that computers are useful in doing searches, maybe you could use one of those new fangled gadgets to do that searching…just saying.
