Got this kit for my wife for Xmas. She loves it - says it’s cute.
With a choice of XP or 7 there’s really no wrong choice!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this netbook rocks! The keyboard is stellar and everything else works great.
any thoughts on what OS is better for this computer, XP or 7 ?
You will most likely want Windows XP. If Windows 7 Starter is on the netbook, you will have a lot of annoyances, including not being able to change the background.

These are indeed really great netbooks and the accessory kit does like nice! Good deal I think.

That accessory kit makes this a good deal.
Usually they sell for $70 or so alone.

and the Acer product page
This may be a dumb question, but how reliable do these refurbished items usually end up being?

I know this is only a 3-cell battery, but only 2 hours of life, “depending on usage” (which makes me think even less)? Does anyone have real-world experience of battery life to expect?

go with 7 premium. i absolutely love it. have been using it for a week now and its flawless.
