If you choose the windows 7 option you will need to buy more ram!
Here’s some reviews…
This one has the 3-cell battery, so be aware that it will only get about 3 hours of battery life.
Otherwise a solid netbook for a decent price.
What’s with all these computers lately?! I’d be WAY happier if they were at least gaming computers! XD But really–Woot has been a letdown lately.
My Asus 1005HA netbook runs perfectly fine with 1GB of RAM (Windows 7 Professional 32 bit). It even runs Aero. (Very similar specs)
The outside looks shiny, does anyone have any experience with how scratch resistant the finish is?
I have the Asus Eee PC 1000HE. Other than a failed fan, I can vouch for build quality/overall quality of the Asus line. In my experience, they have better keyboards and trackpads as well.
my boss has one with the windows seven basic thing that normally comes on netbooks and he hates it, but my stepdad has the same thing with the full window seven upgrade and he thinks its amazing. i think its all in the upgrade.
I have the 1005HA model (1005HAB is from Best Buy). It is kind of scratch prone, so you will need to be careful with it.
However, I haven’t managed to scratch the outside of mine much. I keep it in a laptop bag when not in use though.
Inside is VERY fingerprint prone.
Still holding out for hopes of one day seeing an Asus netbook
Here’s a pretty good youtube review, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkGAuYvDYnw
I recommend you look at today’s deal then… Maybe look closer.
if you want a good keyboard typing experience, choose the Asus eeePC. It has larger keys compares to the Aspire One
These are great for surfing the internet from the couch or light word processing. Small and light form factor, decent battery life, and excellent functionality.
Im pretty sure the netbooks dont use fans luckily Asus is a solid reliable brand. Unlike hp, dell, and gateway, they dont seem to try to profit using cheap power supplies and motherboards in their higher end machines.
So I can just power this up and sit in the food court that has free wifi and I’ll be able to surf the web. I don’t have to buy anything thing else?
Well I’m a jerk… I saw Acer and was like bwaaah. Now I’m just being picky wanting an Asus with Windows 7.
