Have read the CPU specs, Has hardware H.264 decoding up to 1080P. Me wonders if this would serve as a Steam stream-only box, for streamed in home gaming.

The problem with this is that the OS and image bu takes up almost all the memory. In three years of updates, I expect there will be no memory left. I have a 64 gig version and there is not even much left on that one.

Purchased this last time it was on Woot. Not great but not horrible. Don’t expect to do anything beyond basic browsing type stuff. Just playing MS Solitaire Collection causes it to become pretty hot.

For the price I am glad I bought even though it definitely left ma as a firm Android user.

If you buy this model note the following:

  1. It will be dead when it comes in and cannot operate without a battery charge. Plug it in for at least 2 hours. I would plug it in for around 8. It may take up to 20 hours for a complete charge the first time.
  2. It will fail if you install all updates at once. Install the first 5-10 and then install 8.1 from the software store. Then the 8.1 update from updates. The unit is almost unusable without 8.1 update 1 on it.

Read the previous thread (http://computers.woot.com/forums/viewpost.aspx?postid=5887265&ref=cnt_odet_jtd) on this tablet when Woot sold them in July. This was my only bad Woot experience, and I’m STILL waiting for Woot to credit me for the returned Acer tablet!
