ACOPOWER Portable Freezer - Your Choice

Hmm it says here that the current P40 has a rechargeable lithium battery…

I own both models. The P40 does not have a battery. These work great. I got the P40 for road trips and use the P40A for when I am camping on the islands so I can keep it charged with solar.

Can the P40 be upgraded to use a battery? I see a replacement battery is about $100 but the difference in price is $200 between the P40 and P40A.

Conclusion: is there no 120 VAC charger installed?

That’s a question not a conclusion.

You’re supposed to do like this:

The P40A also has a solar generator/controler so you can charge the battery with solar panels. (It can also be charged with a 12v power source such as your car or the 115 v AC adapter.)
