I have the one with the fan. I don’t really use the fan that often, but I really reallly reallllllly like how versatile this thing is.

My only gripe is that it’s really hard to use a mouse, no space for it.

Very good reviews (4.5 out of 5.0) over at wayfair.com

I liked mine, but they are very fragile at the hinges and impossible to repair. I won’t be buying a replacement.

Love mine. Use it to hold up a 17.5" monster laptop. I’ve abused it quite a bit, and it seems to take it quite well. Has traveled with me quite a bit as well.

I bought one a year ago and use it daily. Change angles and it creates a standing desk, a lap desk, an instant floor desk. Very versatile and sturdy (I use it with a heavy 15" laptop). Remembering the correct positions for each formation I use requires the included guide. And though it’s light it’s also bulky, so doesn’t travel well. But around your house or favorite cafe it’s outstanding for getting just the right angle. Small lip keeps computer from slipping off. Fan keeps computer happy and using less energy.

Done and done. I’ve been waiting to buy one of these.

Furinno appears to be the best reviewed brand on Amazon, and it’s also the most expensive. For the A6 (no fans), the Woot price with S/H beats Amazon by $9.76

Okay, so it’s not an OMG crazy deal, however it’s less expensive than it’s ever been on Amazon, with data back to 2012. (TY camelcamelcamel.)

Bottom line: You’re unlikely to find a better price* on this leading brand**. If the Furinno laptop desk is something you or someone you know actually needs (or wants!), then you should purchase it now.

Thanks Woot

*until (and if) the strengthening dollar translates into lower prices. Do you want to wait?

**Cheaper brands are available, but you also run a higher risk of disappointment, judging by feedback on Amazon.

I think that’s backwards; I see the Furinno A6-F for that much less, including Woot’s S/H, on the Mothership. It’s prime eligible, so no S/H for Prime members on Amazon.

Purchased the fanless version back at end of last year and am very happy with it.

Seems sturdy to me; there is a little bit of wobble in it.

It’s a “set it, and forget it”-- i.e., don’t plan on changing the joints often because while it isn’t difficult, it also isn’t trivial (i.e., no one hand lift and put in position).

Also, you’ll really need to purchase a mouse tray if you use a mouse-- there isn’t enough real estate on the desk for a 14" laptop and a mouse.

I’ve only used it in the desktop position. I don’t know how well it would work as a floor or bed stand. But I’m very happy with it in the configuration that I’m using.

I have no trouble recommending it. I’m now spending between a third and half of my work day standing, thanks to this-- has helped reduce my neck/upper back discomfort tremendously.

I like that this can also be used to set up a standing desk. I’ve been wanting to do that since I’ve developed back problems from sitting too much, but I’m too short for most setups.

The mothership has mouse trays from Furinno also that attaches to either one of these trays.

Only pink is left in the trays with the fans. Not my color, but in for one.

I bought one and it fell apart before I ever got to use it. Then if you want it replaced you have to contact the manufacturer, Woot wont replace it.

Got one for the wife for Christmas who seemed pretty pessimistic about it when she opened it up, but she now uses it constantly. Other than the color I got, she gives it a big thumbs up.

BROKEN HINGES:

Any movement sideways will crack the leg hinges.

If you “ONLY” use this on a table top you might be alright. The problem comes when you use it in your bed. There is to much friction on cloth, the legs can not move sideways. There fore the hinges end up taking all the stress and will crack. If it was not made of cheap plastic I don’t think it would be an issue.

Make your own mind up. But don’t say you were not warned.

exactly correct, just ordered one from mom.
Thanks!

I got one last time, and it came in very handy when I stayed overnight with Dad in the hospital and nursing home. Very easy to set up and use on a tiny bed. Have used it a couple of times at home also as a bed tray.

I haven’t had any durability issues with it, but then again I’m very careful with it.

These things are great and my wife appreciates her’s as much as I do mine. (rare with my usual his/hers tech purchases)

They are very versatile (think breakfast in bed) & certainly one of my better impulse purchases.

If you don’t have patience it can sometimes be a bit frustrating getting the exact position that you want. But that’s the trade-off for being one of those rare individuals with just a bit - You end up with the EXACT position that you want.

Constructed of ultra lightweight yet surprisingly strong aluminum they can absolutely take a beating. I used these a lot camping last year and they were subjected to their unfair share of abuse.

Word of warning though when using these out-of-doors. I used these ice-fishing last weekend when the outdoor temperature was -8F/-22 – DO NOT LICK IT. No matter how much you want to.

You have been warned.

This is precisely what I did with the one I bought from that last Woot-Off. It works marvelously. Just be careful adjusting it… something about the buttons you push seem to snag fingernails. It can be painful. Set it and forget it is probably best with this setup.
