I bought one of these last time they were on sale, and I am pretty disappointed with it, even for a relatively meager price. I struggled getting the settings right at first It would fill up the 2GB SD card I had in there and then stop recording! Why is that the default?
The battery in it is completely shot - when the car powers off, I get MAYBE 5 seconds before it dies, and it doesn’t matter if I’m using the 12V plug or the USB. Useless for that 3-5 minutes after you leave your car. I can’t even get out before it dies. Therefore, the “motion detect” is completely inoperable.
The night vision is total crap. Totally useless.
The daytime resolution is 720p at best and it’s pretty grainy. I don’t think you could read a license plate unless you literally rear-ended someone, so it’s pretty useless for that.
The mount is pretty decent, but it flops around too much since it’s just got the ball joint and you can’t lock it into place. You can just try to tighten it down and hope you don’t break anything.
In the heat, the screen FREAKS out and flashes white to the point where it’s really distracting and you have to unplug it because it’s just so damn annoying. Now that it’s cooled off, it’s not a problem, but this thing is not very rugged.
I’m considering returning mine because in the last week or so it’s developed this buzzing noise out of the speaker, randomly. Overall, it’s very ineffective. Save your money.

Thanks for the heads up…I’ve been wanting one for a while and was thinking this would be a great gift. There is nothing worse than a gift that doesn’t work well…so i pass…
This is the biggest piece of s**t I have ever bought. It doesn’t hold a battery charge( after 24 hours of charging) it shuts itself off about a minute after it is turned on. The instructions are written by non native english speakers, with poetic phrases such as 'Press long to power on". I want a refund for this non- functioning POS.
