We live in the moist northeast and have owned one of these chairs for about 5 years. It lives outside most of the year, and while the fabric is faded and the elastic velcro strap holding the pillow/lumbar support has stretched, there’s no rust. I’ll probably buy this set so we’ll have three chairs and a table.
I purchased two of the Timber Ridge padded chairs sold through Costco but did my homework first by looking at a variety of these type of chairs. They’re wonderful chairs, especially for anyone with lower back pain, but they all take up a lot of space when folded because of their double frame. I drive an older Cadillac Sedan de Ville with a HUGE trunk, but one of these folded covers the entire floor.
I paid $49.99 for each of my chairs and, even though I prefer a padded chair with their own attached tables, this looks like a very good deal. I find the padded models more comfortable, but these will dry out faster than mine, which is a plus. I have canal stenosis in my lower back and whenever I really need some relief I sit in my chair with it laid back in zero gravity mode and get instant relief!
FYI - properly powder-coated steel won’t even begin to rust until the integrity of the powder coat is somehow compromised. We powder-coat all of our outdoor products for just that reason.
I bought a Bliss chair just like these, off of one of the home shopping channels and I hate it. It sits too low and I have trouble getting in and out of it If you are elderly, or have knee and hip problems you don’t want this.
Is that the actual color, or is it a B/W picture? Not the most attractive color if that is accurate, although this otherwise seems like a pretty good deal.
