I have had four of these off woot in the last year. 2 are still working, and just barely. Amazon relplaced. One of them.
Same here, got one replaced and now they won’t replace bad second one. Just freezes whenever it feels like. Hope the newer one I bought new from Amazon works good. Won’t be telling anybody to buy these off Woot again. I feel bad that I had about 10 people buy these refurbs. Hope they don’t drop me as a friend.

I’m in the same boat. Bought 6 of these about 6 months ago. I use 4 and 1 went bad (lines on the screen) in the first 2 months and had it replaced. Now 2 more are having the same issue but I’m out of the warranty. Restart helps it for a little while (seems software based) but it comes back eventually. I would not buy these again.
Agreed - this was a good deal when the only option was to buy a new one for $229 but now with all the new models this one should be priced at $20 - $30
The first gen show sounds good but looks low tech. Got the Show8 during black friday and it blows away the first generation show. The Show 5 is not equivalent, it’s got a tiny screen. The main reason you would be annoyed by a first gen device is that you have to scream at it to be heard. It can’t hear over itself easily at all while a 3rd gen device will her a whisper while it’s playing music.
