No way, these things are phenomenal- especially for kids!
My 5yo son has thrown his across the room about once a week for the past two years… the screen will pop out but I just snap it back into place and it’s totally fine lol.
He’s also gotten it’s soaking wet countless times but it alerts you and cuts off charging ability so you don’t fry it… it’s always been fine after a few days with some desiccant packets.
The only thing is I wish I bought a screen protector so I wasn’t buying another tablet right now instead hah…
I have devices that my kids used to play on that are at least 5-6 years old. Still going strong. I’ll charge one up occasionally (after being dead in a drawer for months) to read on or for travel if I don’t want to bring an iPad. It’s my experience these things never die.
Mine came in and it’s used very good. Is that the same as refurbished? I’m not complaining for the price, just wondering.
Yeah if you got it from Woot or Amazon I believe they only come refurbished rather than used… meaning they factory reset it of course, but also make sure the battery is at a minimum of 85%. In the 10+ refurbished tablets I’ve bought though I’ve never gotten near 85%… usually it’s at 95% ish? And they make sure the microphone/speakers/ and camera are all functioning properly. I think with used it just means they’ve wiped the data, or factory reset it without the additional assurance that all parts are working properly,
Ordered one color, box even says the color, but tablet was wrong color. Emailed customer service from website form to return. How long before get response? Have checked my spam folder.
Woot just had a week of Specials and a Woot Off so they are extra busy. The notice on Forums says “Please allow 48-72h for Customer Service to respond”.
Don’t send multiple emails, they will cancel each other. Just hang tight for another day or two.
“Refurbished” covers everything from buyers’ remorse returns and products whose defects have been repaired by the pros to damaged packaging and discontinued items. If you can accept their checkered past, refurbs have a lot of love to give.
