Thought I was seeing things when the number jumped up.
The 6" has a 1280 X 800 IPS display at 252 ppi; the 7" has a 1024 x 600 IPS display with 171 ppi. The 6" has a quad core processor (2 @ 1.5 Ghz + 2 @ 1.2 Ghz); the 7" has quad core @ 1.3 Ghz. Also, the 6" runs the latest release of Fire OS including Alexa just like the 7".
I have a 6" 16GB and really like it.
Don’t be all that bummed. Fire Tablets are heavily limited by their Fire OS. If these are Fire OS 5.3.1 or earlier (which is likely with Refubs) their Fire OS can be replaced with a custom full Android ROM opening up much for traditional tablet functionality. I do not believe that this can be done with the Fire OS version on the more recent one’s being sold on Amazon’s site.

Apparently this is a fireHD kids edition, and I can’t register without a kids profile. I don’t want a kids edition, i wanted this for me. I can’t seem to get it registered so I can use it. This is majorly pissing me off.
Have decided to attempt rooting it and installing regular android.
I received the ones I ordered. They came with version 4.1.1. First thing I did was Root them with KingRoot 4.5 and remove the OTA functionality by renaming the system file that facilitates it. The next thing I plan to do is replace the FireOS Rom with something like CyanogenMod 11 (CM-11).
I have seen others that bought the Amazon Prime Day versions report that their OS is too high of a version to root. I am definitely glad I got these here.
