Quite a deal compared to the current mothership sale price.
The one on Amazon appears to be new while this is Like New/Open Box.
Still, seems like a very good price even if it’s open box. In for one, as I’ve been looking for a cheap sound bar to get my feet wet for awhile.
I might be tempted to try this again. The very first time Woot offered this (refurb/open box also), I got one. Was excited but when I got it plugged in, it sounded terrible. . .very garbled and scratchy. I thought it might be the TV (brand new 65" Samsung) so I tried it on a different set. Same issue. Tried to connect via BT - yep, same issue. It was obvious that was the reason it was returned.
Still, for $40 bucks, it might be worth the gamble. . .
I got mine. Sounds great. Only I need for PC. no way to connect lol.
A lot of PCs have SPDIF/optical outputs, HDMI, and the USB plug also can do audio, which most PCs have ports for.
wow. S/PDIF I have. I never used it. I thought the USB on the bar was only for updates. IDK.
I’m using Audio Relay b/c no s/pdif, and I like the pc in one spot, bar in another.
I ignored the USB A port on my unit until I started going through the input selection options and it said “usb” so I figured it’d work like some headsets I have. But, today I tested it out with my laptop’s USB and it didn’t automatically connect to the soundbar as a USB device. It does appear as an input option in the start guide’s coverage of what that button cycles through but otherwise I see no mention of using the USB A port as audio input.
update - a usb drive formatted in fat32 with a mp3 file on it played off the usb port.
lol thanks amazon. so much better than just letting us connect to anything w/ bluetooth. I think I’ll use an old phone and make my setup permanent.
Does your computer not have Bluetooth? This speaker has Bluetooth, so you can connect your computer to it and play audio that way
