Maybe some folks don’t need the newer one. We have a $25 Wooted one and it works just fine.
And I picked up the newest 4K Fire Stick this week for $30 on the mothership. I was using the Android Amazon shopping app and it offered $20 off… I think they knew I was traveling and using my old 1st generation Fire Stick and I was cursing how slow it is…
The whole fire lineup is slow. There are so many better kodi devices out there. I personally use my laptop but obviously not everyone has a laptop to use.
Hmmm really? My Fire Cube and Toshiba FireTV edition are super snappy. My fire sticks are pretty old (1st gen) so they are laggy as heck but I also use them only in hotels etc so the Wi-Fi is so crappy I don’t really care. 
They’re mostly just to access Peppa Pig to stop the kids going all Motley Crue on the room.
