Only $10 off the new price. I have it, it’s a good tablet, but not much of a discount for the refurb here.

looks like this is 16 gb instead of the standard 8 though. That one is $53 today (or $33 for the 8)

For those that like to live on the edge: This is a 2nd generation model, which can be hacked to run standard Android. I’ve got one at home running CyanogenMod13. Its a bit tricky to get going, but there are great guides online for it.

How is the display on this? Is it bright enough to be seen outdoors?

Today on Amazon Prime Day,
8GB is $33.33 new
16GB $53.33 new

Ah, thanks for the catch. Need more coffee.

That said, I threw a 32gb microSD card into mine for $10, and I’m pretty happy that way.

It is a decent device, and I enjoy being able to download Prime video for offline viewing on my commute.

This model seems to have a different speaker and camera placement then the one you linked to, is that the gen 1?

If the new one is $53 with free shipping and this refurb is $40 + $5 to $10 shipping…that’s not much of a deal is it? Seems like new at $53 is better than refurb at $45.

Free shipping today.

Those are standard Fire tablets. What is listed here is an HD Fire tablet.

That being said, Amazon doesn’t list a 7" HD model, and this seems to be quite a bit older as it is running duo cores as opposed to a quad core.

Amazon has the newer model with a quad core processor. Woot model is not the same one.

Thanks Thunder, that helped. I grabbed one. My old Kindle is unresponsive (and just does books). Looking forward to being able to read on a Kindle again (and watch some Prime Video).

I did not see a slot in the spec’s
for a sd ? did I miss thaT?

I guess it pays to read the fine print in advance so as to avoid the oh crap surprise:

Fully charges in under 4 hours via the Kindle PowerFast charging accessory (not included), or slightly longer with other micro-USB power adapters that you may already have.

Maybe I’ll get the other piece in my BoC!!

Got mine…doesn’t work, unable to fix via troubleshooting chat on amazon. Have contacted customer service on here about it
