American Kitchen by Regal Ware 6-Piece Stainless Cookware Set

First off, I’m the National Sales manager for Regal Ware. I wanted to clear up a couple of points / questions. Just being up front.

Regarding the “Biodegradable nonstick” part in the description. The nonstick is not biodegradable (that would not be a good long term nonstick coating). It’s made with a biodegradable surfactant in place of PFOA. There have been exhaustive studies on PFOA and it’s long term effects on the environment which I won’t get into here. But the FDA made the decision for all nonstick coating manufacturers to completely eliminate PFOA from the nonstick manufacturing process by 2015. The nonstick in American Kitchen is made for us by Whitford Corporation (worlds leader in nonstick coatings)Whitford found a biodegradable material to replace PFOA in the manufacturing process that produces a coating that performs as well as traditinal nonsticks made with PFOA.

American Kitchen is dishwasher safe. The cooking surface for American Kitchen is 18/10 - 304 grade stainless steel (made in Pennsylvania by the way). The encapsulated base is 18/0 stainless steel which is what makes the collection suitable for use on ANY cooktop surface, including induction.

Yes, the cookware is made in the USA in our facility in West Bend Wisconsin.

I’ll be checking in from time to time to see if there are any more questions I can clear up.

You pan folks might be more into your craft than the flat screen or music comments.

Electronics and entertainment are great, but they’re luxuries. But you gotta eat! Might as well make it good.

Thanks for stopping by. Could you talk some more about this, please? What exactly is a “surfactant”? Since the surfactant is biodegradable, that suggest it would not be a good long term coating. What happens if the cooking surface on these pans wears out, in terms of the lifetime warranty?

Surfactants are all water soluble. That includes PFOA. All that being biodegradable changes is that when it does make it out into the water supply it’ll break down. Won’t have any effect on longevity of coating.

Does the sauce pan have nonstick coating too? or only the frying pan?

Only the Fry Pans? Why would you need non-stick on the sauce pan?

Environmental impact the most important factor in buying cookware? That’s unpossible!

Has anyone heard anything on the status of these? Usually the items ship by now.

It can take up to 5 business days for items to ship – not counting the day of the sale.
