Possible to upgrade ram? Open bay since listed as 8 onboard? I’m not savvy to Mac much, looking for a friend.
You’re not able to upgrade the RAM or anything on MacBook Pros. The RAM and SSD are soldered to the motherboard. I will tell you that Macs with 8GB of RAM run well for “normal” computing needs such as office work, web browsing, email, etc.

Do you know if I will be able to buy applecare for this device?
These are also the ones with the potentially problematic keyboards. (one stuck key means replacing the entire keyboard)
To be fair, the Chrome Stick I attached to an old monitor runs fine for “normal” computing needs (if you’re ok with Google Docs).
