I have an unlocked I-5 that was originally Verizon. AT&T won’t give me a sim card, they say the Verizon model won’t work right with AT&T’s 4G. What carriers will this work with?

Try Verizon prepaid if you like.
I had a new Boost Mobile phone that I got unlocked and went to the Att store and they set it up for Att prepaid. You can also try Cricket,Straight Talk or other carriers

How do you know if you will get a GSM or CDMA- they say verizon and GSM but when i went through the purchase steps it doesnt ask me which one I want

No. Verizon and Sprint use CDMA technology; AT&T and T-Mobile use GSM. Two incompatible systems.

The Ad is confusing. It says Verizon & GSM. The specs confirm GSM. Ergo…no Sprint.

Uhm…nope.

The Verizon iphone has a carrier-locked CDMA antenna (to Verizon), and an unlocked GSM slot for ATT/T-mobile or other. So you can use it with Verizon, ATT, and T-mobile.

I also bought one the last time this was offered. Phone is in PERFECT condition. No marks, dings or anything. I think it was a T-Mobile phone originally. I use TING and once I bought and installed a Ting SIM, the phone worked flawlessly. I did have to update the system when I got it and it took a day or so for the battery to fully charge. I had an iphone 4s and the battery was almost dead. I decided it was more cost effective to purchase this phone than pay for a new battery.

This is great! You were able to do what I’m trying. The phone I got turns out to be “Unlocked to Verizon and GSM networks” rather than “Unlocked GSM” The question is: can I connect it to Ting?
