Is this a very good deal for 8GB , 256gb HD or am I missing something
Apple sells these for more then $5 million dollars each
But really for like $1500+
This is a 2015 model, which is 3 models ago from the current (there was a 2017 model, a 2018 model and the current 2019 model).
You can see all the specs here
That being said, this is actually a pretty good price, IMHO.
Can this be upgraded to the latest version? A lot of these are impossible to upgrade to the necessary APFS
Found this. Looks like it does.
Jokes aside, I think this is a good deal. If my 2012 MacBook Air (same form-factor) weren’t still going strong, I’d jump on this. I like the 13" size and the lightness of the Air. And these will run the latest macOS (Catalina) just fine, and the new releases for the next several years.
All the MacBook Airs have SSD’s which will update to APFS just fine. In fact, if you install High Sierra (10.13) or Mojave (10.14) on it, those will also update it to APFS just as Catalina (10.15) will.
