Probably a good chunk of Woot patrons are tech saavy enough to get this iMac up to the current version of OSX. However, if you’re not, hard pass this model and go for the more expensive iMac they’re currently offering. I wouldn’t consider this one a good deal since my company just threw a few of these in the recycle pile for not being worth investing time in to. However, the screen is gorgeous…
And this gen of iMac was one of the last easy ones to actually do upgrades on. Hell, now I’m negating my previous comments. Okay, it might not be that bad if you ditch that spinner disk with a cheap SSD.
Good deal for simple web browsing, email, etc. I had the same model when my kids were younger. We didn’t have to deal with the hassle of malware and it was still fast enough for little kid games and Minecraft. Got more years out of it than your typical computer.
Now they’re old enough for “gaming computers” so now they build and upgrade their own.
