Apple iPad Air 3 (2019) 10.5" Tablet (S&D)

Apple iPad Air 3 (2019) 10.5" Tablet (S&D)

Can I expect that this would have scratches on the screen or just the body ?

There could be light scratches on the screen but nothing that inhibits use.

If you cannot articulate why you need an iPad Air vs a regular, mainstream iPad, especially wirh this iPad Air 3 (2019) vs the latest mainstream iPad 9 (2021), this deal is a poor value. Hint: it might have to do with knowing what “laminated screen” means.

This used scratch & dent iPad Air 3 is $290 vs the a new iPad 9 with an MSRP of $329 and street price of $300-310.

For that $10 or $20 you get:

  • 1 year new Apple warranty vs 90-day by Woot.
  • A13 vs A12 cpu, which typically means another year of useful life.
  • New battery vs used ($99, for a proper replacement by Apple).
  • Much nicer front camera with “Center Stage” - a follow you feature for video calls that works so amazingly well people on the other end will think the camera is on a motorized tripod. iPads work great for video calls since the person/people on the other end are displayed larger and you can be further from the screen. (vs. a phone.)
  • Will you actually notice a 10.2 vs 10.5 inch display size, other than side by side? (If you like holding your tablet by the bezel, the bezel is slightly wider on the iPad 9 and the overall dimensions are identical vs the iPad Air 3.)

Otherwise, the specs of these two models are virtually identical, same base 64GB storage, same battery life (when new), same rear camera resolution, same display pixel density, both charge via Lightning port, etc…

Thanks, I was considering the 256 version. I think you still swayed me

Did you notice the either 80% or 85% battery minimum is not mentioned?

In fairness, they once tried reporting a guaranteed minimum battery health for used iPads… until it was pointed out that, unlike with iOS on iPhones, iPadOS (oddly) does not report battery health.
