Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max - Unlocked (Pristine - Black Box)

I’ve heard that if the first rep doesn’t want to add it, just call back and try another one. You might have to explain Woot is owned by Amazon.

Will do. Thanks!

FYI: I just spoke with AppleCare and if you buy this, you can add it to an AppleCare One policy that covers multiple devices.

Awesome, thank you. I’ll be doing that.

Why do I find your recollection suspect?

Because in some 40 years of using Macs , including my owning the first iPhone, the refusal of Apple to take a recent-model product - in good condition - for a trade-in because of the origin of the sale is unheard of.

For myself, I was already shopping for this exact 2Tb model to pair with my new RayNeo Air4 Pro A/R glasses (Justice version, of course!) so I can stream movies, fly FPV drones, etc.

Getting a $450 discount on what I was buying today anyway is fortuitous, providence, and “Free Money” as many noble tribesmen say.

It turns out that paid for the new A/R glasses!

As far as AppleCare goes, this has basic warranty coverage, but since I just bought a new Ultra 3 Apple Watch, I’m springing for the “bumper-to-bumper” coverage of AppleCare One that covers all of your Apple devices. For $20/month you can cover three devices, and adding additional devices costs another $5.99/month.

I just think that iphone 18 might come with a price hike out the gate.

Yeah, I expect a price hike, maybe except for minimum config. 1 and 2 TB will be “precious” for sure.

One thing I noticed in 17 specs is that case is aluminum; prev gen 15 and 16 were titanium.

Same. I noticed the Ti → Al change too. Possibly cheaper with maybe some desirable qualities technically.

The Ti feels awesome in hand, but most of these live in the case anyway :joy:

Is it worth upgrading if I have an iPhone 16 pro max 1tb?
I’m a little addicted to woot. Have been buying things I don’t really need lol.

What does ’ Pristine - Black Box’ even mean?
According to past chats, the iPhones are relative new.
But if it’s new, why isn’t it in the white Apple box sealed?
Are these units something like surplus from stores or companies who unloaded their unused inventory?
Is this why these units do Not qualify for AppleCare?

Amazon Visa offers 5% back, as Amazon owns Woot and you can use AmazonPay.
MrRebate currently also offers 3% back with no info on when it will end.
