It works great. I bought one on Woot last year. It was pretty easy to install. It’s plastic so it won’t last forever, maybe a few years. We use it along with a Ladybug water saver and they work fine together. I’m a real estate developer and like to put in fancy fixtures, but for $23, this is a deal and is really nice flow. Very pleased with this, enough to take the time to write this review which I don’t usually do.
This model is available under many brands, which you can find on Amazon. The number of settings may seem different but that’s due to the way they define “setting.” They all have basically 3 main settings: Power Rain, Hydrating Mist, and Massage. Everything else is a permutation of these 3 combining the two heads. This is the best price, not counting s/h or sales tax. If you do include s/h and sales tax, then 1sale had a better deal last week at $20, Free s/h and no tax.
Some models a 3-way diverter and some have a 2-way. The 3-way allows you to combine both heads while the 2-way forces you to choose between the two. Using both heads use twice as much water. At least one company changed from a 3-way to a 2-way to comply with water-usage legislation. Rumor has it that they’ll give you the older 3-way diverter if you call them.
The biggest problem with these combo models is that the handheld is mounted too high to be accessible. I’d have to tiptoe to dismount it which is not a good idea in a slippery tub. That’s why many companies also have a sliding pole model for a few dollars more. A vertical pole allows the handheld heed to slide up/down. THis is especially helpful for shorter people, the elderly (who can’t stretch) and younger children. I just bought one for $29.
I bought one of these a few months ago. It worked well until about 2 weeks ago. Now it only sprays through one shower head. Headed to the store for a replacement.
I bought this a while ago, but hooked it up finally right before Christmas. It’s a good showerhead, we had just moved into a place that has just a standard old showerhead with no handheld option and I missed it.
One thing I don’t like is the settings on the handheld piece, I like a strong jet setting on a handheld and this does not really have anything super strong. Also one bad thing is I primarily use only the stationary head and when you switch to the handheld the water at first comes out cold. But otherwise its a good showerhead especially for the price
These are worth it if you don’t constantly mess around with them or if you do, you are conscious that they are made of plastic (not metal like the real deal = $$$). Also, I recommend wrapping a tiny amount “plumber’s/teflon tape” around the shower arm threads before screwing the shower heads on.
I picked this up a few weeks back when it was listed for $25…WELL WORTH IT. Seriously…took two seconds to install and has made the shower so much more relaxing. I may pick up another today for my guest bathroom.
Just to clarify, as a plumber myself, when going to a plumbing supply house, ask for teflon tape. Plumbers tape is actually a roll of metal banding with holes in it. Plumbers and pipe fitters use this to suspend heavy pipe from floor joists and trusses.
And I have replaced a ton of broken plastic shower heads over the years. Especially if you have hard water.
