How convenient…

I just replaced my failed 2.5 year-old SB6121 this past Tuesday due to an endless boot-loop issue, which started when I powered it back on after returning from a 10-day vacation. It would not change status from OFFLINE when connected directly to it, even after a full day of trouble-shooting.

I don’t know the failure mode, but my service was good and replacing the modem fixed the issue.

I’ve had minor issues in the past with dropped internet (from once/month to every couple of days) that wasn’t attributable to the router. Typically, these issues were fixed with a power cycle of the modem.

It’s replacement, an SB6183, hasn’t been in-service long enough to determine whether it will be better or more reliable.
